There is not much truth in this statement by Cathy McMorris Rodgers. The Federal Communications Commission decision to end net neutrality by declassifying the internet as a public utility is hand out to the big telecom companies who want charge you more money for your internet. Cathy McMorris Rodgers’ explanation of her support for the FCC decision is entirely unconvincing. The problem that rural communities face in getting access to a fast internet connection is in fact an infrastructure problem of installing fiber optic cables and so forth, which is pretty much unrelated to net neutrality. Net neutrality protects telecoms from slow down the speed at which you receive data over the internet rearguards of the infrastructure.
