The Republican Party has brought a style of partisanship to Washington D.C. that has resulted in a U.S. Senate and U.S. House that are so divided that compromise is seen as evil, especially by the conservative Republican base.  U.S. Rep. The Editorial Board of the Walla Walla Union Bulletin had similar to say about Rep. Cathy McMorris-Rodgers during the 2012 election year.
